Assistant Director of Student Affairs: Center for Young Musicians has an opportunity for one Assistant Director of Student Affairs. Candidates must hold a bachelors degree or higher in the fields of business, education, or the arts, and successful experience or training with artist support in a creative or educational institution. Ideal candidates should have experience designing and implementing a marketing scheme, working with clients of varied arts knowledge and experience, and experience helping to maintain growth within an arts and family centered community. Candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to develop cooperative relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Candidates with a music background are preferred.

The Assistant Director of Student Affairs will report to the President of CYM and the Director of Student Affairs
The Assistant Director of Student Affairs will Manage and execute day-to-day planning and implementation of the enrollment and retention strategies for Center for Young Musicians. The primary responsibility of this position is to introduce CYM's mission to prospective clients to meet the creative and financial goals of Center for Young Musicians, Inc..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as an ambassador for the Center for Young Musicians in Pittsburgh, surrounding communities, and artistic community.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective clients for enrollment into CYM's programs. Organize and manage registration and enrollment processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain community content such as weekly newsletters and blog posts within CYM and in all social media environments.
- Build relationships with faculty, administration, and community stakeholders to look for innovative solutions and new opportunities for increasing awareness and growth of CYM's community.
- Assist with developing strategy and ongoing improvements to our marketing plan including but not limited to optimizing outreach, visibility, and client experience. Communicate plans, programs, and results to President and Director of Student Affairs on a consistent basis. Work closely with Director of Student Affairs to create marketing strategies, programs, and measures to support and grow CYM within sphere of influence.
Must
- Be a people-person with customer service experience
- Have excellent communication skills and be detail oriented
- Have a background in the arts (music preferred)
- Be able to take initiative, direction, and be self motivated with an open mind willing to learn
- Have extensive knowledge of online media and communication platforms and proficient knowledge of visual design basics and applications; e.g. Adobe creative suite, Dreamweaver
- Have entrepreneurial interest and basic knowledge of marketing and accounting principles
- Hold a bachelors degree or higher in the field of business, education, or arts
